Ewe Imi Esu (Goat Weed) – Medicinal and Spiritual Benefits

Ewe Imi Esu resemble Ewe Agogo Igun in appearance, but they are different and used for different purposes. Ewe Imi Esu also called Ewe Pariga in some Yoruba dialects, is known in English as Goat Weed and botanically as Ageratum conyzoides.

Despite its strange name, this plant is highly popularly in Yoruba traditional medicine for its powerful wound-healing, pain-relieving, and anti-inflammatory properties. Spiritually, it is considered a protective and cleansing herb, often used in rituals for removing bad luck and neutralizing evil attacks.

The plant grows freely in farmlands, roadside bushes, and abandoned lands, making it one of the easiest medicinal herbs to find.
